Bioware announced at EA’s E3 show EA Play that their highly anticipated latest title Anthem will launch on February 22nd 2019.

Anthem was the finale to the show this year, viewers were treated to a brand new cinematic trailer of the game as well as some new gameplay. Executive producer of Anthem Mark Darrah said that there will be “some cosmetics and vanity items that you’ll be able to purchase but you’re always going to know what you’re gonna buy before you spend any money on it, so no loot boxes, no ability to pay for power. So that means no ability to spend money on gameplay advantage at all in Anthem.” A recurrent theme during the conference, it seems EA has learned from the Battlefront 2 criticisms.

It’s worth noting that the release date of February 22nd clashes with the just-announced release date for Sony Bend’s Days Gone, something which the folks over at Bend may not be best pleased about. This may not be the last we hear about Days Gone’s release date…

Anthem releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 22nd 2019.
